Bugs for Saturday, August 30th 2008
Today there are loads of new bugs in Wrath of the Lich king, many of which have been caused by the new patch. It’s rather frustrating to know that they implement things but then fail to implement them correctly. Below I will list the bugs.
- Spec. into Seperation Anxiety in BM tree causes double Seperation Anxiety as well as reset on logout.
- “It goes to 11…” is still bugged out (2 patches later).
- LUA errors out of the ass for files that are unfindable such as Vehicle pitch and yaw files.
- Eating right after leaving combat results in a wasted piece of food or water. (Same on live servers).
- Mounting results in a total cooldown before mount.
Downtime - 8/29/2008
There will be downtime for Wrath of the Lich King today lasting from 2:30PM PST to 10:30PM PST. This downtime will also amount to a new patch of those of you who are subscribed to the beta (please note that the beta is by invite only). As news comes in about the patch download location it will be released, as well as new patch notes posted for the patch on 8/29/2008. For those of us who have multiple 70’s to play and notice a lot of things missing (such as our most famous and new talent for hunters that increases damage if the pet is more then 20 yards away) or Judgements for paladins, we are hoping that this will bring these. As well, for those of us who have been leveling our Deathknights, hopefully this will fix a lot of the bugs in quests and dungeons a long this long road from 55 to 80.

General Additions to WOTLK Beta Build - Patch notes are incomplete.
General additions to WOTLK are additions that effect everyone, every class and every race. These are NOT specific to anything but the game. This can include level caps, general bugs as well as the latter list of Dungeon additions. Please also remember that WOTLK (Wrath of the Lich King) is still in Beta and is by invite only.
- The level cap is currently set to 80.
Dungeon(s) Additions to WOTLK Beta Build
Dungon additions to WOTLK are additions that effect everyone, every class and every race. These are NOT specific to anything but the game but do effect those subscribers of the level listed in parenthesis. Please also remember that WOTLK (Wrath of the Lich King) is still in Beta and is by invite only.
- Borean Tundra: The Oculus (80)
- Borean Tundra: The Nexus - Heroic (80)
- Caverns of Time: Stratholme (80)
- Howling Fjord: Utgarde Pinnacle (80)
- Storm Peaks: The Halls of Lightning (80)
Hunter Additions to WOTLK Beta Build
- Disengage: This ability has been re-designed.
- Now leaps the Hunter backwards up to 13 yards.
- 30 second cooldown.
- Disengage now also only has one rank (rank 1).
- Distracting Shot: This shot now “taunts” the target onto the Hunter. The taunt effect will last 6 seconds. Distracting Shot now only has one rank (rank 1).

Rally up and ask for better APIs.
That’s right, as we all know, eventually we all right an add-on. Some of us write add-ons the world can use like: Recount, Omen, FuBar, Titan Panel and many more and some of us build add-ons that real gamers hate and would never use (but apparently some “hardcore” raiders like them - which would explain why they are never gonna be liked by the real raiding community - these include add-ons like SolarianAlarm and shit that makes games easy-mode).
Today, I started working on my add-on again. The add-on that writes a LUA file (since LUA variable files are really simply just JSON we can parse it easly with VB, C++, C# or even PHP - I plan do offer the upload scripts in all forms, including Perl too).
When it came down to actually saving the battle ground data, we came up with eveything but the actual scores. This is the raw data we want. For example, if alliance wins WSG, a win isn’t all we want, 1 or 0 isn’t good enough, how many flags did Horde get? Who was the TOP player for the BG?
I am asking everyone to lobby for Blizzard to add this into WOTLK so that we can integrate WOTLK into our sites more and even live data. This would be bad ass yo. BAD ASS.
Today I start the beta of WOTLK
So, today I finally registered for the beta of WOTLK. I’ve decided to logon and start playing a Deathknight and see what is in store for the future of WoW. I will be posting screenshots daily as well as posting bugs that I find that I would personally like to see fixed, as well as things I would like to be added. And things that I like so far.
- When trying to create an event on your personal events calendar the calendar closes automatically and will constantly do so making it impossible to create an event. This isn’t much a needed feature right now but could spawn into an excellent guild feature.
- I didn’t like it that they moved the mounts to a new “Pet” section. While it is nifty and now it saves bag space, at first, it was rather hard to figure out till I asked over general. To which somebody explained to press SHIFT+P (which we usually use for our hunter pets). So far after you figure it out, it’s a great feature, but a nice pop-up to explain would be nice.
- Events calendar integrated directly into wow with the date in big letters. This is an awesome feature even though right now it seems to be bugged out. It could be very powerful for guild organisation and could bring wow into the raiding to be topped (even though literally it already is).
- I didn’t like the lag and it’s inability to have graphics over-ridden by my graphics card. I would love for my graphics card to set the level of graphics (aside from features in the graphics like magic spell level). This makes it so that WoW can’t go over our actual ability.
So far the game has been fun, and it’s exactly what I needed as I was getting really bored with WoW having come in after BC and not being able to get into some of the better raiding guilds (don’t get me wrong, my guilds are freakin’ awesome, we just can’t push forward because we are rather new). This is going to put everybody at the same level and allow some of us who are bad ass players to top the guilds who think they are bad ass simply because they have T6 and I only have T5.
